I feel an overwhelming feeling of "freedom" when I start a new painting, freedom of painting anything that fulfill my senses anything that makes me feel good, painting is like feeling free of the issues that affect all of us on a daily basis, freedom of feeling scare, freedom of feeling angry or sad, when I put the first brush strokes of paint on my canvas the time just goes by without me being aware of what time it is, I can paint for hours on end, I forget what is around me and all it is on my mind is the figure, flower or landscape that I am trying to paint. I am sure that a lot of you fellow artists have felt the same way when you paint.
